THE STORY OF THE CRANE AND THE DRAGONFLY

This artist pays tribute to nature by painting a dragonfly and a grey crowned crane on her body. The dragonfly, a predatory insect and skilled flier, has often been depicted in art and used as a fashion accessory. In countries like Japan and China, they are consumed for their healing properties. In Japan, they are also considered a symbol of courage and good fortune.

The Grey Crowned Crane is the national bird of Uganda. It is one of the few crane species that can roost in trees. As its population is endangered, the population fluctuates between 58,000 and 77,000 individuals.

THE AVENGERS

These ladies are dressed up as members of the Avengers, the superhero team from Marvel Comics. While the characters in the comics are traditionally male, it’s refreshing to see a different take.

From left to right: Thor, the God of Thunder, with his legendary hammer Mjolnir. Next to him is Hulk, a scientist with mutated DNA who can transform into a giant monster. Then there’s Captain America in blue, a super-soldier from World War II. Finally, Iron Man, a genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist.
