PINK FLOYD – THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON: VALUED AT $3,230 (£2,500)
Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon stands as one of the best-selling and most collected albums of the 1970s. Its legendary status is matched by the iconic cover art created by British design group Hipgnosis, which remains a huge draw for fans and collectors alike.
The original 1973 UK Harvest release is the most prized edition, distinguished by a solid blue prism on the record labels instead of the more common shaded design. A first pressing sold on eBay in February for $3,230 (£2,500), though most copies typically fetch up to $1,600 (£1,239).

THE VELVET UNDERGROUND – THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO: WORTH $3,520 (£2,716)
The 1967 album The Velvet Underground & Nico, famous for its iconic Andy Warhol pop art cover, remains a highly coveted collector’s item. A mono white label promotional copy recently sold on eBay for $3,520 (£2,716), while standard editions typically go for over $1,000 (£774).
The most valuable Velvet Underground record, however, is a rare promo single featuring mono mixes of All Tomorrow’s Parties and I’ll Be Your Mirror. Only about ten copies with original picture sleeves are known to exist. One sold on Discogs in March 2024 for an astounding $30,000 (£23,220), marking the highest price ever fetched for a single on the platform.
