Widely hailed as the greatest jazz album ever, Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue stands as the second best-selling LP of the 1950s. It’s also one of the most collected records from the ’50s and ’60s, second only to The Beatles’ White Album, according to Discogs.
Due to high demand, prices for the original 1959 release are impressive. A sealed first pressing recently sold for $1,750 (£1,351). Among used copies, the US mono pressing featuring the ‘Adderly’ misprints and reversed B sides is the most valuable, fetching up to $1,200 (£930).
